About me
Psychologist Amy Bouwman
I am Amy Bouwman, psychologist. After living and working in Barcelona for several years, I returned to Amsterdam in early 2025. I bring this experience of emigrating and finding my place again in the Netherlands into my work - it makes me work culturally sensitive and understand the issues that expatriates, remigrants and intercultural relationships bring.
I enjoy working with insightful and compassionate forms of therapy. Compassion helps you deal more gently with yourself, relate better to pain, and at the same time take responsibility for your own choices and life. In this way, you learn not only to allow and nurture emotions, but also to use them as directions for a more meaningful existence.
